Dairy Queen Confirmed As New Restaurant Opening On High Street In Ellsworth

A new Dairy Queen Grill & Chill may open this winter at the former site of the Darling’s auto dealership on High Street in Ellsworth.

Spokesman Dan MacIntyre said Wednesday that Ellsworth Soft Serve LLP intends to open the new restaurant in December, according to the Ellsworth American.

MacIntyre said the restaurant, in addition to ice cream, will offer burgers, hot dogs and other sandwiches. The new Dairy Queen will also have a drive-through window.

The city was asked earlier this month for permission to make improvements to the site in preparation for a new restaurant, but the identity of the new business was not disclosed at the time.
