Crash Shuts Down Bangor Road [UPDATE]

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.) The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is reporting that one lane of traffic is now moving, but traffic is backed up on Route 1A from Moto-car to Myrick Street.

The Ellsworth Police Department is asking motorists to avoid a section of Route 1A in the aftermath of a thee-car crash with several reported injuries.

The Bangor Road in Ellsworth is shut down near the Moto-Car Auto building, according to a Facebook post shared by the Ellsworth Police Department at about 3:30 p.m.

Comments on the Department's post suggest that motorists headed to Bangor can take the Christian Ridge Road to the Red Bridge Road to avoid the accident. As an alternative, motorists can get to Bangor via Bucksport.
