Country singer Randy Howard was killed on Tuesday by a bounty hunter. The 65-year-old had performed alongside Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, and got on the country charts in 1988 with a remake of the Johnny Cash song 'Ring of Fire.'

ETOnline reports that a bounty hunter showed up on Howard's doorstep in Lynchburg, Tennessee on Tuesday to detain him for a missed court appearance. During the confrontation, the two men opened fire, and Howard was killed.

The bounty hunter, according to ETonline, was acting on a warrant charging the singer with a 4th-offense DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and driving with a revoked license.
