Councilor Sprague’s Top Ten Bangor Moments/Events For 2014

This past Saturday night, Ben Sprague, a Bangor City Councilor, posted to Twitter what he believes are Bangor's top ten moments/events for 2014.  Take a look and see if you agree!

1. Data shows Bangor with greatest per capita income growth & youngest median age of any city in Maine; biz development looking good for '15.
2. Bangor (@FlyBGR) plays small role in Ebola fight; all patients transported thru BGR survive. Calm professionalism trumps fears.
3. Regional task force studies substance abuse issues (@GibranGraham); @Botticelli44 of @ONDCP comes to Bangor to educate, provide funding.
4. Bangor solemnly remembers 30-year anniversary of murder of Charlie Howard; city recognized by @EqualityMaine for progress.
5. Big year for entertainment in Bangor: DMB, James Taylor, Bob Seger, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Willie Nelson, Cirque, many others all play
6. City makes major progress on abandoned and dilapidated properties; pushes banks to action, takes several buildings, works with Habitat.
7. Community comes together thru @foodANDmedicine Thanksgiving Basket program to support Bucksport, Lincoln, Old Town workers.
8. Downtown mural inspires, welcomes, fills community with pride.
9. City works with @SenatorCollins and @SenAngusKing on SAFER grant to secure 4 firefighter jobs; city upgrades two fire engines.
