What says Autumn better than an afternoon in a corn maze? I love them! Of course, I have a great navigator, who helps me find my way through...thank goodness! We've already visited one in Levant, but did you know there are SEVERAL corn mazes in our area?

Last weekend, Jim and I made our way through "The Great Gobbler" at Treworgy Orchards in Levant. It was fun! There are several "stations" throughout the maze where you eliminate suspects and crime locales in the "Cornucopia Caper." Find the answer to the caper and you get a free ice cream cone! Treworgy Orchards is on outer Union Street in Levant. Can you believe almost 60,000 plants are in the maze? Wow!

Thunder Road Farms in Corinna also has a big corn maze! This year's theme is "Breast Cancer Awareness." It's a beautiful maze...and a great cause! On October 6th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the folks at the farm will team up with EMMC and the Breast and Osteoporosis Center for a Breast Cancer Awareness Day. There will be folks on-hand to answer questions along with some yummy food and giveaways! The Thunder Road Farm is on Route 7, the Moosehead Trail in Corinna!

Homewood Farm in Blue Hill has a huge corn maze! The theme this year is the Homewood Farms two dogs Maple and Dot! Apparently, the two cuties love to play in this 10-acre corn maze. And when you've found your way out, have some fun with the trebuchet pumpkin throw! Pick a pumpkin, load it into the machine, and launch it! How cool is that?! Homewood Farms is on the Ackley Farm Road in Blue Hill.

Sandy River Farms in Farmington has "The Amazing Maize," which will be opening on September 29th! This is also a 10-acre maze, with pick your own pumpkins, and hayrides adding to the fun at the farm. Sandy River Farms is on the Farmington Fall Road in Farmington.

Happy Autumn!!
