Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the person responsible for damage to an athletic field at Jefferson Village School.

The Bangor Daily News reports the soccer/baseball field was damaged when someone drove across the field with a vehicle.

Lt. Rand Maker of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened sometime Friday night or Saturday morning.

“(The field is) a community resource, and I guarantee you we are not going to solve this without the community’s help,” Maker told the BDN.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 882-7332 or 549-7072.

Police have not said how much it would cost to repair the field, which was recently sodded.
