Cops Charge Man From England With Sexually Assaulting Levant Teen

A man from England has allegedly assaulted a 13-year-old girl from Levant and has been charged with gross sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.  Nicholas Cheese, 26, of Oxford, England has had his passport seized.

The father of the victim told the Penobscot Sheriff's Office that his daughter had been communicating with Cheese online for about a year and a half, and that the man had recently flew into Bangor and rented a hotel room.

Cheese is being held in the Penobscot County Jail and a bail hearing is scheduled for 1pm today.
