The man convicted of killing 15-year-old Nicole Cable, by using a false Facebook profile, has lost his appeal to the state's Supreme Court.

Dube was sentenced last May to serve 60 years in prison for killing Cable in 2013 after being convicted on charges of murder and kidnapping. Prosecutors say Dube abducted Nicole to have sex with her. Police say he told others he'd intended to kidnap her and hide her away, and when a search was launched, he could play the 'hero' and find her.

The court unanimously rejected his claim that the verdict should be overturned because of non-expert handwriting testimony about a note admitting to a crime. Dube also disputed comments made by the prosecutor in the closing arguments.

Cable's body was found after an eight-day search. The Medical Examiner's office says she died from asphyxiation.
