Bangor City Officials invite community members to a series of town hall meetings, to discuss any issues and concerns. The second one is planned for tonight.

The town hall meetings will be held in schools throughout the city, to ensure easy access for everyone. Officials say it's an opportunity for community members to engage with key members of the city staff, get answers to frequently asked questions, ask questions about issues not initially addressed, and offer their own thoughts and suggestions. All Bangor residents are encouraged to attend.

All of the meetings will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m, with the first planned for tonight at the James F. Doughty School, 143 5th Street.

Two other town hall meetings are planned:

  • Thursday, October 8th at the Mary Snow School, 435 Broadway
  • Thursday, October 22nd at the Downeast School, 100 Moosehead Boulevard

City Manager Cathy Conlow says she hopes residents will attend at least one of the town hall meetings and that she encourages people "to submit questions in advance" on the city's website.

"We expect topics such as potholes, abandoned properties, and police matters will be items of broad concern. However, we want to know what is on the minds of Bangor's citizens, to be sure we're working towards addressing the community's needs."
