A fire at a commercial garage in the town of Liberty has sent one man to the hospital.

WABI-TV reports crews responded at around 7:30 Sunday night and found the garage already fully engulfed in flames. A man was in the building on Route 3 and was taken to the hospital with what officials say were non-life threatening injuries.

Crews reported several explosions that were likely the result of several tanks in the rear of the building. Fire Chief Bill Gillespie told TV-5 that weather conditions proved challenging, with water freezing instantly and firefighters trying to maneuver on the ice.

The garage is considered a total loss. Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office will be at the scene this morning to try and determine what sparked the blaze.
