Coast Guard Continues to Look for Fishing Boat Containing Two People

MOUNT DESERT ISLAND, Maine — The Coast Guard is searching for a 55-foot fishing vessel with two people on board that reported it was taking on water off the coast of Maine.

The Coast Guard continues to look for a fishing vessel that was reported missing just after 6:30 Sunday evening. The 55-foot boat, containing two people, went missing in waters south of Mount Desert Island.

Coast Guard officials say only one distress call was received, giving a brief description and that two people were on board the vessel. Searchers don't know the name of the boat or the fishermen, at this time.
