First Portland, now Bangor?

In April Portland became the 275th city or county in the country to ban public vaping. The ordinance bans smoking e-cigarettes in public places. This means smokers of e-cigs or vaporizers will have to follow the same laws that apply to other tobacco products.

Now Bangor is moving forward with its own ordnance banning public vaping. The City Council’s Government Operations Committee voted 4-1 to move the idea forward. Bangor may also add a provision banning vaping in cars with minors aboard.

A draft of the proposal is in the works.
