A gas roll-back event will be held in Bangor on Wednesday that will offer a limited amount of fuel for the price it was in 2008. It's all thanks to a group called "Americans for Prosperity" and Union Street Citgo.

Gas will be offered for $1.84 a gallon on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from noon til 1:30 p.m. to the first 150 Mainers at Union Street Citgo in Bangor. Each car will be limited to 15 gallons at that price.

"Americans for Prosperity Maine" calls itself the state's leading advocate for economic freedom. It's part of a nationwide organization of citizen-leaders committed to advancing every individual's right to economic freedom and opportunity.

The group's state director, Carol Weston, says this is not a political event. She says, "High gas prices hurt Maine families and it's our goal to help alleviate the pain at the pump, even if it's just for one tank of gas."
