Police say charges are likely to be levied against the owner of a dog that they say killed a cat and injured another dog.

WABI-TV reports the animal was contained in a fenced-in area at its home, but was able to jump the four-foot fence surrounding the yard. During an angry rampage, the dog allegedly injured another dog and killed a cat belonging to a Knox County Sheriff's Deputy.

Officials tracked the pit bull down in Thomaston on Sunday and tried to use a Taser on the animal, because they say it was being aggressive. But the weapon had no effect and the Pit Bull ran off. The dog was eventually captured and has been quarantined.

Police say it's likely the owner will face a charge of Owning a Dangerous Dog.
