Casey James remains steadfast in his No Shave November commitment. This month, he's been forgoing any his usual facial hair grooming habits in support of Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs from the donated hair for cancer patients who have lost their hair following intensive chemotherapy. The country newcomer admits that the goodwill effort is one that hits particularly close to home.

"My family has been really affected by cancer," James tells the Boot of the reasons behind his commitment. "My Nana died of cancer, my Pawpaw passed away May 11 of last year of cancer. My mom is a two-time cancer survivor."

The scruffy-faced singer is representing his family well, as Team Casey James is currently in first place with  $4,400 raised for the cause so far. All donated funds go directly to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, a pediatric treatment and research facility committed to finding a cure for terminal childhood diseases.

Donations for this particular mission are accepted through Nov. 30, but the nonprofit organization relies heavily on charitable giving from generous individuals year-round.

Fans hoping to see the singer rocking his impressive facial hair in-person can catch one of the five November shows on the 2012 Taste of Country Christmas Tour, which officially kicks off Thursday (Nov. 15) in Abilene, Texas. JB and the Moonshine Band will join James on the road for the 11-date festive holiday outing.
