Police say alcohol was a likely factor in a single-vehicle accident that killed a Casco man.

The accident happened at around 6:30 Saturday evening. 39-year-old Carroll Morton was the only person in the vehicle when it veered off the right side of Route 11 in Naples and struck a tree. WMTW-TV reports Morton had to be extricated from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, but the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is still investigating.
