A 2013 Dodge Dart ended up with a smashed in roof this week after it collided with a cow moose. State Troopers have sent out a reminder that the large animals are moving right now, so use caution when driving.

Jonathan Malone, 25 of Haynesville, was driving his 2013 Dodge Dart at around midnight on Wednesday when his car hit the moose on Route 2A in TA R2 WELS. The moose did minimal damage to the front of the car but significantly damaged the roof. Malone was lucky that he only sustained minor injuries to his forehead.

Maine State Police Sergeant Chad Fuller said in a press release that moose are active this time of year. Motorists should slow down and use caution, especially at night when it's more difficult to see them.
