Car Accident Sends Three to the Hospital

A car accident Monday morning sent three people to the hospital, including twin sisters.The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says a truck drove into the path of an SUV at the intersection of Route 2 and Annis Road in Hermon. Injured in the accident were 77-year-old Donald Merrill of Milo, 51-year-old Melinda Walton of Carmel, and Melanie Berberoglu of Etna.

All three were taken to the hospital with broken bones, neck and head pain. The accident remains under investigation.
