Maine women over 18 can attend this workshop to improve outdoors skills including firearm use, archery, and fly tying.

The Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is offered in many states but the Maine division is one of the most popular with so many outdoor activities in the state. Workshops are offered year round with different focus' according to the seasons. Workshops include everything from hunting, fishing, recreational vehicle use to learning a little about yourself in the process.

The spring mini workshop is May 17 at the UMaine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond. Registration has just begun for this workshop focusing on archery, shotgun, fly casting, fly tying, rifle marksmanship, freshwater fishing and map and compass skills. Instructions, equipment, and lunch are all included.

The Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is co-sponsored by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife and the Friends of Maine BOW. The registration form is available on their website.
