Officials at RSU 25 said Tuesday that a school district employee has resigned amid an ongoing police investigation.

Superintendent Jim Boothby said in a statement that the employee had worked for the district for a little more than a year, but provided no further details about the individual.

“While I cannot discuss personnel matters or the investigation of a personnel matter, I can say there is nothing more important to myself and RSU 25 than protecting children and maintaining appropriate boundaries,” Boothby said.

Bucksport Police Chief Sean Geagan confirmed that an investigation is underway, but was unable to provide any additional details.
