MDEA agents investigated a suspected meth lab in Bucksport on Sunday.

Bucksport Police responded to a report of a disturbance on Central Street Sunday morning and, during the investigation of the incident, found items they suspected were being used to make methamphetamine. MDEA agents were shown photographs of some of the items, which prompted them to issue a search warrant for the home.

The warrant was executed at around 4:00 that afternoon and the search conducted by drug agents and members of MDEA's Lab Response Team. As a result of that search, 28-year-old Megan Patten was charged with Unlawful Operation of a Meth Lab. At last report, she was being held at Hancock County Jail.

Drug agents were at the same house in November for another meth-making operation. One person was charged, at that time. Both cases remain under investigation. These are the first two responses in 2019 for MDEA's specialized hazmat/evidence revoery team. There were 52 responses in 2018, compared to 58 in 2017, and 126 in 2016.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
