Live music, food, a parade and fireworks; its happening all weekend in Bucksport.

The annual Bucksport Bay Festival is this weekend. The three day celebration kicks off Friday afternoon. All three days are jam packed with fun activities for the whole family. Friday's highlights include a variety show, street dance, and movie night at the Alamo Theatre.

Friday Events:

  • Bucksport Historical Society, 1-4PM - Relics from Bucksport's storied past will be on display at the town dock.
  • Bucksport Bay Festival Pageant, 4PM - Contestants will compete for the title in the Hollywood Glamour themed pageant. It will be emceed by 2017 Ms. American Woman of Service, Mikele Reynolds.
  • Local Vendors, 4-9PM - Food trucks, crafters and local organisations will have booths set-up along the waterfront.
  • Perform Your ALS Off, 6PM - A fundraiser variety show to benefit the ALS Association Northern New England Chapter. The show is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
  • Street Dance, 7PM - Live music on Main St. with rock n ' rollers, Right Out Straight.
  • Movie Night, 9PM - The Alamo Theatre will host a movie night in the theatre parking lot. The movie will be A Dog's Purpose. Bring a chair, and enjoy the movie. If it rains the movie will be screened inside.

Saturday features a 5K run, a pancake breakfast, parade, live music all day and fireworks.

Saturday Events (Highlights):

  • Salmon Run 5K, 8AM - Registration for the 5K begins at 7AM at the Town Pool.
  • Pancake Breakfast, 8AM - Enjoy a pancake breakfast in the Bucksport Marina parking lot.
  • Parade, 9:30AM - The parade steps off on Franklin St., onto Mill St., onto Main St.
  • Antique Car Show, 10AM - The annual car show is at Crosby's Drive-In until 2PM. A shuttle will transport folks to the event.
  • The 20th Maine Militia, 10AM - Fort Knox will host The 20th Maine for canon firings and living history demonstrations.
  • Live Music, 10AM - The live music kicks off with Wooly Bear on the Town Dock stage. Also performing throughout the day is Matt Drinnenberg, Shirt Tail Kin, Oshima Brothers, Rivertown, The Willy Kelly Trio and Dakota.
  • Brewfest, Noon - Sample beers from seven participating breweries, and enjoy live music from Vance Peters, Oshima Brothers and Chris Ross & The North.
  • Dingy Races, 2PM - Competitors will race for the best time. Registration is at the Bucksport Marina.
  • Fireworks, 9:15

The live music continues Sunday, and across the bay Fort Knox will host The 20th Maine Militia civil war encampment and cannon firings.

Sunday Events:

  • Local Vendors, 11-3PM - Food trucks, crafters and local organisations will have booths set-up along the waterfront.
  • Kids Corner, 11AM - Inflatables and games for the kids.
  • The 20th Maine Militia, 10AM - Fort Knox will host The 20th Maine for canon firings and living history demonstrations.
  • Live Music, 11:30AM - Enjoy music from the Allison Ames Band on the Town Dock stage.
  • Dingy Races, 1PM - Competitors will race for the best time. Registration is at the Bucksport Marina.
