A Brunswick woman and her 5-year-old son are safe after the two were reported missing on Tuesday.

Brunswick Deputy Police Chief Marc Hagan says 33-year-old Sarah Walker-Meade called police Wednesday afternoon, and said she and her son, Joseph Katula, were not in any danger.

The mother and son were reported missing by Walker-Meade’s parents on Tuesday.

Tuesday night, a driver in Massachusetts reported spotting Walker-Meade’s 1999 Volvo driving erratically in the town of Westford. Police responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Westford police posted on Facebook that the woman may be being held against her will. On Wednesday, Hagan said he had no information to support that claim.
