Having a child with cancer has to be incredibly overwhelming. As a mother myself, I know how panicked I was when my sons broke bones or needed stitches. Parents of kids with cancer have enough to worry about, without having to deal with sky-high medical bills. So a yard sale in Brewer this weekend will try to help alleviate some of those costs for one Maine family.

15-year-old Zach Nickerson of Corinth has been battling cancer his whole life. All the proceeds from the sale will go to help Zach's family cover the mountain of medical expenses.

The yard sale will be held from 8 to 4 Saturday and Sunday in the parking lot in front of Results Physical Therapy on Wilson Street in Brewer, right across the street from Lowe's. Donations are being welcomed for this very worthy cause. You can drop your donations off at Results today, or during the sale. For more information, check out the event's Facebook page, or call Tricia-Fae at Results in Brewer.

It's benefit yard sale weekend in Brewer, apparently! Brewer Federal Credit Union is also having a sale on Saturday to feed the hungry. Swing by both this weekend, find some bargains, and help out two worthy causes at the same time!
