Brewer Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in a string of car and garage burglaries.

Police say at least nine vehicles and garages were burglarized Tuesday night. In one instance, a safe was removed from a garage and allegedly broken into using a knife and a hammer. Medications stored inside the safe were taken.

Officials say all the vehicles and buildings were unlocked, and so they're urging residents to make sure to lock their doors. Spring is when these sorts of 'crimes of opportunity' become a problem, as suspects roam from driveway to driveway looking for unlocked doors. Items most often stolen include cash, medications, CD's, and electronics.

Police released a picture of a red-haired suspect on the department's Facebook page. They're asking for a phone call from anyone who thinks they may know the suspect shown here at the Big Apple Convenience Store on South Main Street in Brewer.
