Bowdoin Student Reports Attempted Assault

A Bowdoin College student reported an attempted assault Tuesday night. It comes a week after a student said she was sexually assaulted at an off-campus housing complex.

The school said in an email to students that the latest incident happened along Potter Street.

A 20-year-old student said she was walking alone when someone grabbed her from behind. She ran away to a nearby campus building and was not hurt.

Police say she was not able to provide a description of the suspect.

It comes after a 19-year-old student reported that she was attacked at the Mayflower Apartments. She said the suspect entered her apartment through an unlocked door and raped her.

Police have released a sketch of that suspect but no arrests have been made.
