The announcer at the 2014 Boston Marathon Finish Line asked for a moment of silence followed by a cheer "that signifies how this city has gone forward." The result will bring tears to your eyes, even if you're not from Beantown.

Emotions were already running high this year, as runners and spectators alike remembered the bombings last year that injured 264 people and killed three.

Kudos to this announcer who brings poignancy and then exultation to the day.
