All Lincoln residents are under a boil water order until further notice.

The Lincoln Water District is calling it a depressurization of the system and told WABI-TV that there was an explosion at Pump Station 2. That's located on Station Road in Lincoln.

Boil Water Orders are issued in any event that could introduce pathogenic or biological contaminants into the water system, or if the presence of fecal coliform and/or E.coli is detected. Under such a directive, any water that is to be ingested has to be heated at a rolling boil for one minute before drinking it or using it in cooking. This includes water that's going to be used to make ice cubes or brush teeth.
