The body of a missing Waldoboro man was found along the banks of the Penobscot River in Searsport last week.

The remains of Steven Reed, 64, were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta where positive identification was made. Reed’s relatives were notified over the weekend, according to police.

Reed was last seen leaving Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor on November 4 after being discharged.

Searsport Police and State Police detectives coordinated the recovery of Reed’s body from the river bank after it was discovered on May 8.
