The body of a missing woman from Arundel was found submerged in a local pond Saturday.

According to the Portland Press Herald, 54-year-old Paula Gagne had been reported missing earlier in the week. York County Sheriff's Deputies traced her cellphone usage to a wooded area, and conducted a search. Finally, they called in the Warden Service to assist them, when no sign of Gagne could be found.

On Saturday, her body was located in a small pond, near the Eastern Trail. She was in the middle of the pond, facedown under the water. Her body was recovered by searchers, who say a preliminary analysis indicates that she drowned. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to confirm cause of death, however officials say no foul play is suspected.
