The young man whose body was pulled from the Kennebec River near Pittston over the weekend has been identified. Police say they do not suspect foul play.

Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says the man has been identified as 23-year-old Jonathan Barber of Readfield. He was reported missing on September 11th but was last seen in Waterville on September 8th.

The State Medical Examiner's office says "further studies" are needed before they can determine cause of death. Police say they do not suspect foul play.
