An artist from Blue Hill was killed in a single-vehicle accident this week when his SUV rolled onto its side.

67-year-old George Crosby was traveling alone at around 7:30 Monday night on the East Blue Hill Road. Hancock County Sheriff's deputies say the vehicle failed to negotiate a sweeping right curve, traveling onto the shoulder of the oncoming lane, before coming to rest on its driver's side. Crosby was not wearing a seat belt and died from his injuries.

A well-known artist, Crosby was born in New York but had made Blue Hill his home in 2004, according to the Weekly Packet.
