A Boothbay Harbor man has caused some controversy in town with a large anti-gun control sign that states 'Black Rifles Matter.' We want to know what you think!

Linc Sample has added another piece at the top of the sign (pictured below) that has the modified version of the 'Black Lives Matter' slogan, and it has some people seeing red. He told WLBZ-TV that the sign isn't about racism, but about not wanting additional gun control in the state. He says he posted the sign in response to an ad he saw in a local paper about an assault weapons ban, something he calls a 'real trigger' for him.

Tourists and residents alike have complained to the town, insisting that the sign be removed. Some don't like the intended message, and others feel it's actually a racist jab at the 'Black Lives Matter' movement. But town officials told WLBZ that Sample owns the property on which the sign is posted, he has the necessary permits, and is exercising his First Amendment rights for freedom of speech.

Now, we're interested to know what you think of the sign. If you passed by and saw it, would it offend you? Would you applaud the sign? We'd appreciate your feedback!
