The folks at BB's Tattoo Company in Newport will host their annual Bike and Hot Rod Show next month. And, once again this year, the proceeds from the day will benefit a local family in need. They hope you'll take part or come out and join the fun!

The 9th Annual Bike and Hot Rod Show is being held at BB's Tattoo Company, on the Moosehead Trail in Newport, August 2nd. Registration begins at 9:30 and the awards will be given out at around 1 p.m. And there are several categories for awards, including Daily Rider, Custom Bike, Best Paint, People's Choice, Iron Butt, and Bad Ass Hot Rod.

In addition to all the cool bikes and sizzlin' hot rods, there will be local artisans showing off their skills and products in Vendor's Row. And the Sangerville Fire Department will be serving up some delicious eats! Anyone thinking of entering a vehicle or bike who has questions can call Joe at BB's at 368-5560.

And I can't forget to mention the music! One of the best blues bands in Maine will provide the sounds for the show. Check out the video of Mr. Nick and the Dirty Tricks. They're awesome!

BB's 'Tattoo Joe' told us the proceeds from the day will be given to the Central Maine family of a local girl who's currently in the hospital in Boston. The 11-year-old was born with a rare defect that affects all her internal organs. Her family has had a change in their financial situation and have lost their health insurance. Joe is hoping lots of folks will come out for the fun, but also to show support for these members of our Maine community. Sounds like a lot of fun for a worthy cause!
