This week in country music news was decidedly much more positive than the week prior. No one ended up in jail or on TMZ, and in fact, the top stories this week celebrate the music and the big hearts of country music’s top artists. From the debut of a new TV series to the fulfillment of a dying man’s last wish, what did you think was the biggest story of this week? 

Nashville,’ a one-hour drama about the music business in Music City, debuted on Wednesday night to overwhelming approval from critics and viewers. Also, country’s top talents learned who would be up for awards at the American Country Awards in December, and a surprising singer leads the competition. Other stories that were the biggest of the week are Taylor Swift‘s appearance on Rolling Stone’s cover, Jason Aldean opening up about his family after the kissing scandal and what Brad Paisley did for a man with terminal cancer.
