An auction next month in Hermon will be selling experiences, rather than antiques or gift cards, and is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the United Way.

Featuring a combination of live and silent auctions, attendees will be asked to bid on some cool experiences, the likes of which you just can't buy anywhere else. Some of the items up for bid include:

  • Going on the bus to an away game with the University of Maine Black Bears
  • Taking part in practice and a rally with the Bangor Roller Derby
  • One child will get to ride to school in a Bangor Police cruiser and have their picture taken with the Duck of Justice
  • Old Town Fire Dept is giving away two trips to school on a fire engine
  • A $5,000 travel voucher for a trip to...anywhere!

These are just a very few of the many, many experiences up for bid. You can see the full list on the United Way's website. It sounds like a lot of fun!

The Big Night Experience Auction will be held at the Morgan Hill Event Center in Hermon on Friday, April 8th, beginning at 5:30. Tickets are $50 per person, and include appetizers, dinner with wine, desserts, entertainment, and more. You can purchase them online, ahead of the event. And organizers suggest you check the experience auction catalog often, because new items are being added all the time!
