Betty White is Alive Despite Article That Claims She Dyes

Check the spelling in that title closely. The article in question states that 'Betty White Dyes Peacefully in Her Los Angeles Home.' But it's referring to her hair!

Facebook is filled with copies of the headline and links to the article, accompanied by heartfelt comments of 'Rest in Peace' and 'What a shame!' But the fact is, the 92-year-old actress is alive and well. And probably getting a good chuckle out of the whole thing!

The article appeared in the 'Empire News,' a satirical entertainment website, much like 'The Onion.' The article is actually pretty amusing, discussing Betty's love for animals and how she prefers to dye her own hair at home, in the company of her many pets.

However, the timing is unfortunate, given the death of comedy great Joan Rivers. At least, I hope it was just unfortunate and not a deliberate abuse of Rivers' death to build an audience. That would be incredibly disrespectful to two of comedy's greatest female entertainers.

Whatever their intentions, I, for one, am very glad to hear that Betty White is still around, smart and sassy as ever!
