Musician's are invited to jam this Friday to help one of their own battling cancer. Doug Boutaugh is traveling to Boston several times a month for treatments and expenses are piling up.

Boutaugh is battling Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that is diagnosed in only about 3000 people per year. It's not curable, but it is treatable. Doug has about six more months of treatments and may then be eligible for stem cell transplants if he's in remission.

Doug's friends in the American Legion Riders decided they wanted to help, so they're putting on a benefit musician's jam this Friday night beginning at 7pm. It will take place at the American Legion Hall, 970 Central Street in Millinocket and Lenny and the Misfits will provide the music. Musician's are invited to plug in and join the fun! But you don't have to be a musician to take part. Admission is by donation.

Folks who can't make the event but would still like to help can mail a donation to Rick Cyr Jr, 57 Cottage Road, Millinocket, ME 04462. For more information, check the events page on Facebook.
