A beauty school with branches in Bangor and Lewiston suddenly closed its doors yesterday. The announcement was made on Facebook the day before students were due to return to classes.

Another Facebook post said that administrators at Mr. Bernard's School of Hair had attempted to call all the students to tell them personally. Unfortunately, they said it was not always possible.

The school was founded in 1960 and, according to its website, was 'dedicated to educating professional cosmetologists.' There's nothing on the website about the closure and, so far, no reasons have been given. On December 19th, a post appeared on the school's Facebook page that wished students Happy Holidays and said the school was closed until January 6th.
