Bath Police say an argument that turned physical resulted in two people being stabbed and a third person arrested.

Police Chief Mike Field says the incident happened just before 10:30 on Monday night. Bath Police and EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at 27 Spring Street, where they found two victims. A 38-year-old man had multiple stab wounds to his arm and back. He was taken to Maine Medical Center and was listed in stable condition, as of last night. The other victim, a 19-year-old man, was stabbed in the hand. He was taken to MidCoast Memorial Hospital in Brunswick.

Investigators say the 39-year-old victim and 34-year-old Brandon Plummer of Bath got into a verbal argument that escalated until it turned physical. Plummer allegedly began to stab the victim several times. When the 19-year-old man tried to intervene, he was stabbed in the hand. At that point, Plummer ran back into his home. All three of the people involved in the case are neighbors.

Plummer is charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault, a Class A crime. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail and is being held on $2,500 dollars cash bail. The knife has been recovered as evidence.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Bath Police were assisted by the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office.
