A benefit concert is being held this Sunday for local musician Jessi Mallory. The singer/songwriter/Elvis Impersonator has been undergoing treatment for cancer. Along with music provided by some of the best local bands, a silent auction will feature awesome items up for bid!

The Bar Harbor Getaway raffle pictured above is one of the items that will be included in the silent auction, along with artwork, homemade earrings, and more! Items are still being accepted for the auction and can be dropped off at Bangor Window Shade during regular business hours. Or you can just take it with you on Sunday. Organizer Jeff Budge says he'll be happy to make room!

Jessi posted on the event's Facebook page how the money raised on Sunday will be used.

"Having been out of work due to treatment, here is a list of things that need financial attention...Chemotherapy Bills, Radiation Bills, Internal Radiation Surgery (5 rounds) Bills, Ambulance Rides from Surgery to Cancer Care (5 rides), Pre-Treatment Medical Bills including, MRIs, Ultrasounds, PET scans etc..., future Dental Work due to tubes cracking teeth during surgery. It is overwhelming to look at these bills, and I thank you all for what you are doing to help me and my family out. ♥"

Jessi has also set up a corner at the event where folks can bring in used books, clothes, toys, etc to be donated to Cancer Care. She says people in chemo/radiation and their families really appreciate having something to pass the time.

The dance is being held at Happy Acres Hall in Alton from noon to five on Sunday and will feature five bands; The Mainely Country Band, Rockin’ Ron, Ranger, Pard and Lisa Higgins, The Allison Ames Band, and Dakota! And I'm told that Jessi may be joining in with Rockin' Ron, as well! Check out my previous post for an example of Jessi's talent. We hope you can stop by, have some fun, and maybe pick up an auction item or two!
