Expand your musical horizons with Conductor and Musical director, Lucas Richman, and the Bangor Symphony Orchcestra for the 2012-13 season!

Without question, my wife Shirley and I  are big country fans, but we also have other musical interests as well. Over the years we have taken in a number of performances of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, and we've been thrilled each and every time.

Even country stars use major orchestras in some of their performances. There's nothing like it!

The BSO is local, and it showcases some of the finest musical talent in the world. That's right, people who live and work right here in our community. Who would have thought?

If you have a young musician in your household, what better inspiration for that young mind than a performance of the BSO. Get them involved! Music has saved a lot of kids from the destitution of the streets, and helps them perform better in school. It's a fact!

This season begins this Sunday, October 7, at 3:00PM at the Collins Center for the Arts on the UMaine Campus in Orono. The performance is entitled: American in Paris. It will feature famed violinist, Sheryl Staples. You can find out more by visiting the BSO's website: Bangor Symphony Orchestra.

As an introduction to the season, take a moment and watch Conductor and Musical Director, Lucas Richman.
