Emera Maine is reporting that over 1400 customers in Bangor are without power this morning after a car accident on 14th Street.

The outage is affecting parts of Broadway, Union Street, and Ohio Street, as well as several side streets in the area. Emera officials warn that several traffic signals may be affected, so drivers are urged to use caution as they travel through that part of the city.

The outage was caused by a motor vehicle accident early this morning that damaged three utility poles. Crews are at the scene and expect that electricity will be restored by 9 a.m. Drivers are reminded to move over, if possible, when passing utility trucks, to keep everyone safe.
