The Bangor Police cruisers outside Bangor Walmart today will be there for a good reason, collecting toys for the Angel Tree.

Bangor Police Officers will be joining the Salvation Army in an effort to make it a happier Christmas for kids, by collecting donations of toys between 10 and 2 today. They'll take whatever you want to buy, so it could be giant Tonka trucks, or Monster High dolls. Other ideas might be an Erector Set or Lincoln Logs. (okay, maybe I'm showing my age here)

No matter what toy or toys you purchase, you can drop them with the nice officers, who will be easy to spot outside Bangor Walmart. They'll make sure the Salvation Army gets the toys, that will then be added to the Angel Tree Program.

Remember, if you'd rather pick up one of the cardboard angel ornaments and buy the item listed on the card, you can do that at the Angel Tree table. You'll find those folks near the customer service area in both Bangor and Brewer Walmarts.

Kudos to the Bangor Police for helping make it a Merry Christmas for area kids.
