Bangor Named One of Maine’s ’10 Most Ghetto Cities’

Bangor's at the bottom of the list, who do you think is at the top!?

The entertainment website Roadsnacks.net notes at the top of their list that this list was created using data and social media, however the list is just for entertainment purposes.

They collected data by focusing on things like:

• Household income levels
• High school graduation rates
• Number of convenience stores
• Number of drug stores
• Number of discount stores
• Crime

According to this data the top 10 'Most Ghetto Cities in Maine' are:

1. Sanford
2. Waterville
3. Lewiston
4. Skowhegan
5. Augusta
6. Houlton
7. Old Town
8. Westbrook
9. Portland
10. Bangor

Bangor has a 13% drop out rate and the 11th lowest income. We are the 4th worst city for crime and we led the way for #Ghetto related Tweets. Their example was this Tweet:

I’ve been living in Bangor’s ghetto for 6 months now and haven’t been robbed once. I am so raw.

It was also noted that the least ghetto areas were Cape Elizabeth, Yarmouth, Kennebunk, Cumberland, and South Berwick.
