Bangor Named 10th Drunkest City in Maine
List maker website Roadsnacks is known for classifying cities all over the country into different categories like laziest, fattest, most redneck, and now they have named the drunkest for The Pine Tree State.
Based on:
- The number of bars and pubs per capita
- The number of wineries per capita
- The number of liquor stores per capita
- Each city’s drunk related tweets within the last week
- Each city’s divorce rate
Roadsnacks has crunched the data and has released the list of 'Maine's 10 Drunkest Cities' ranking Bangor at No. 10. With a high number of places to get a drink any night of the week and a higher population than other cities in Maine, Bangor was a good candidate for the list.
However, it was the amount of mentions on social media that gave Bangor its 10th place rank. With the hashtag #BangorDrunk and mentions of 'Getting drunk to forget they are in Bangor' the Queen City earned its rank.
We shouldn't be ashamed of this! Things could be worse, we could be No. 1! We're looking at you, Portland.
Other cities that made the list include Ellsworth, Rockland and Belfast. Interestingly enough, a certain college town didn't crack the Top 10. In fact, it barely made the Top 50!
The Top 10 are below, but you can check out the full list at RoadSnacks.
