Bucksport police are investigating allegations of sex crimes between high school students and a school district employee who has resigned as a result of the accusations. RSU 25 Superintendent Jim Boothby told TV-5 that the school is focused on keeping the children safe and is cooperating with investigators. Police were alerted to the situation by school officials.
Schools in Readfield were closed Tuesday due to a threat posted on social media by a high school student in Kentucky. A post on the school district’s Facebook page said the threat was anonymous but concerned the safety of students on the Maranacook Community High School campus. There’s no word on what might have prompted the threat.
Game officials are warning drivers to be on the lookout for wildlife as they’ve been dealing with a lot of accidents involving deer. Mating season is underway, so the bucks are on the move and all deer are trying to get enough food to eat for the winter. They say deer aren’t the only wildlife on the roadways, so drivers should stay focused, especially during peak commute times in the early morning and just before dark.

The statewide program is providing gift boxes for over eighteen hundred kids this year, with each box containing warm clothing, books, and toys, but, because they need to pack and deliver those boxes, the donations are needed as soon as possible.
