Bucksport police are investigating allegations of sex crimes between high school students and a school district employee who has resigned as a result of the accusations. RSU 25 Superintendent Jim Boothby told TV-5 that the school is focused on keeping the children safe and is cooperating with investigators. Police were alerted to the situation by school officials.

Schools in Readfield were closed Tuesday due to a threat posted on social media by a high school student in Kentucky. A post on the school district’s Facebook page said the threat was anonymous but concerned the safety of students on the Maranacook Community High School campus. There’s no word on what might have prompted the threat.
