The City of Bangor is holding a 'Meet the Candidates' night next week, when residents can learn more about the folks running for the City Council and School Board.

We all see the names on the campaign signs for local elections, but how deeply do you delve into what each candidate stands for? And then, when you get to the polls, who do you vote for? The first step to improved government is knowledge of where the candidates stand on key issues. And the City of Bangor has found a way to let residents get informed before they cast their votes.

The forum is a perfect opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their opinions on important issues. Plus, there will be a question and answer period where folks can have any specific concerns addressed.

The Candidates' Forum beings at 5:30 p.m. with the School Committee. The City Council Candidates' Forum starts at 6:30 p.m. Both are being held in the City Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor of Bangor City Hall.

The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Bangor Public Library.
