Things are going to heat up!

The Bangor Professional Firefighter's group are pleased to announce their 4th Annual Chili and Chowder Cook - Off happening Saturday, March 19, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Hollywood Casino in Bangor.

The firefighter's are hoping that you'd like to show off your stuff. Submit four to five quarts of chili or chowder on the day of the event, you must provide your own crock pot or slow cooker. The entry fee is $20, or $40 if you're a professional, all to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Maine. Regular folk can pay $10 to sample everything and vote for their favorites.

There's three categories that will be judged by celebrities from local television news stations:  People's Choice, Judge's Choice and the Firefighter's Choice.

The event is sponsored by the Bangor Professional Firefighters/IAFF Local 772.
