Holiday cheer will be in abundance at the Bangor Band Christmas Concert, including a visit from Santa Claus.

I'll admit it. I can't get enough of Christmas music, especially when I'm listening to it being performed live. It just fills me with the Christmas spirit and makes me want to sing along. If you share this sentiment then you don't want to miss the Bangor Band Christmas Concert, planned for Sunday, December 9th, at 3 p.m.

It will be a family-friendly event at Peakes Auditorium, in Bangor High School, so feel free to bring the kiddos along for the fun. The program will include traditional favorites, like 'Sleigh Ride,' Christmas Festival,' and 'Home For Christmas,' plus some classical holiday pieces like 'In The Bleak Midwinter.' Of course, no Christmas concert is complete without a sing-along, and the Bangor Band will offer up some Christmas carols and encourage the audience to join in the singing.

After the concert, some light refreshments will be served and Santa will pay a visit. The Bangor Band is directed by my old band director from Brewer High School, Curvin Farnham, who's joined by Assistant Conductors, Scott Burditt and Dr. Philip Edelman.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Find more information on the website for the Bangor Band.
